Dopff & Irion
he Dopff and Irion families have known how to make their heritage even more productive through the generations: the vineyard and the Château de Riquewihr. Today, the Château is home to Dopff & Irion. Created in 1945, Dopff & Irion have run their vineyard on 27 ha (Riquewihr) and 5 ha (Rouffach) with vines from Clos Château d’Isenbourg. Nearly a million bottles are produced on a yearly basis. Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir; so many fine gourmet wines that express the superb typical character of the place they’re made in.
Flagshipwine
The Riesling Grand Cru Schoenenbourg is nestled on steep hillside slopes exposed to the South and rises above the village of Riquewihr. It boasts an intense and beautiful colour, fine and complex on the nose, this wine has developed a wide range of aromas with a lively and spicy persistence. It ages very well and can be used with cooking the world over, with fish, white meat in sauce and some cheese with strong character.
